Bike Review: 2025 Honda Hornet 2.0 Launched

Honda has launched the 2025 Hornet 2.0 at a price of Rs 1,56,953 (ex-showroom Delhi). The price has gone up by Rs 13,502 when compared to the previous version, which is pretty significant. The motorcycle now offers a lot more features and is being offered in 4 new colour options. Lets have a closer look at what the new Hornet 2.0 has to offer.

Design

For 2025, Honda has kept the design for the Hornet 2.0 unchanged. The motorcycle gets LED lights all around and still looks quite sharp and well designed. The proper streetfighter looks of the Hornet 2.0 does make it look  quite appealing. It now gets 4 new striking colour options: Pearl Igneous Black, Radiant Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.

Performance

The new Honda Hornet 2.0 gets the same 184.40cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which now has been tuned to comply with OBD-2B emission norms. This engine puts out 17PS at 8,500rpm and 15.7Nm at 6,000rpm. Previously, this engine has been praised for its linear power delivery and refinement. This engine gets a 5-speed gear along with a slip and assist clutch. Compared to the previous iteration, this bike experiences a minor reduction in power and torque, dropping from 17.2PS to 17PS and from 15.9Nm to 15.7Nm.

Features

For 2025, Honda has loaded the Hornet 2.0 with a host of new features. It gets a 4.2-inch TFT display with  smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and supports Honda’s Roadsync app along with turn-by-turn navigation and SMS & call alerts. The Hornet 2.0 also gets updated rider aids like dual-channel ABS and a switchable traction control which Honda calls HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control).

What’s Unchanged

Underpinnings of the Honda Hornet 2.0 still remain the same. It gets a golden-coloured USD fork and a rear monoshock. It uses a light weight diamond type frame. For braking duties, this motorcycle gets a 276mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup along with a dual channel ABS. The Hornet 2.0 gets a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and weighs 142kg which is fairly light for a motorcycle in this segment.

Conclusion

The launch price of Rs 1,56,953 (ex-showroom Delhi), makes the 2025 Hornet 2.0 significantly expensive than the previous iteration. For the price hike, the motorcycle does not offer enough to make it a better option over its rivals. For context, it does not get adjustable front suspension and produces a lot less power & torque when compared to one of its main rival the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

In India, the Honda Hornet 2.0 competes with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS RTR 200 4V.
